Japanese Mahjong is a captivating game that follows the unique rules of the Japanese style. To play, you'll use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select your tiles. Once you've made your choice, simply tap the slider to discard the tile.
The objective of Mahjong is to complete your hand with four Melds and one Pair. For example, a valid hand could look like this: [1, 2, 3][6, 6, 6][6, 7, 8][N, N, N][4, 4]. However, be aware that certain hands may not be valid if you use Chi, Pon, or Open Kan.
When forming your hand, pay special attention to using 1s and 9s in Chi and Pon, as this can affect the validity of your hand. In Japanese Mahjong, you must have at least one valid hand to win.
You can enhance your hand by declaring Reach, which costs 1,000 points. However, you cannot declare Reach if you've used Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. If you manage to keep your hand closed, you'll earn higher points.
Understanding the concept of a Lost Hand is crucial. A Lost Hand occurs when you're Waiting to win, but you can't claim victory from another player's discard because you've already discarded a winning tile yourself. Even with a Lost Hand, you can still win by self-drawing a tile. The key is to never claim Ron (winning off another player's discard) with a tile that you've discarded yourself.
To increase your chances of winning, carefully analyze the other players' discards to deduce their hands and strategize your moves accordingly.
