Skybound Entertainment unveiled its upcoming Invincible fighting game, titled InvincibleVS, during today's Xbox Games Showcase 2025. This 3v3 tag fighting game brings together beloved characters from the popular comics and animated series, such as Mark Grayson (Invincible), Omni-Man, Thula, Atom Eve, and Bulletproof.
The game is scheduled to launch in 2026 on Xbox Series X and S with Xbox Play Anywhere support, as well as on PlayStation 5 and PC.
Here's the official description:
Based on Skybound’s celebrated comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley—which spanned 15 years and 146 historic issues at Image Comics—Invincible VS masterfully blends superhero spectacle with intense combat. Unleash explosive powers and execute devastating combos through fast-paced tag-team mechanics and intelligent defensive strategies. With every brutal Super and Ultimate attack, players inflict more damage on their opponents and leave battle arenas splattered with blood.
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this is the most excited I’ve ever been about anything related to Invincible,” said Kirkman. “Invincible VS is incredibly fun, fast-paced, and fierce, capturing the over-the-top brutality seen throughout the comics and TV series. It’s a natural next step for the franchise and the superhero fighting game fans have wanted for over a decade. Without question, this is arguably the best superhero fighting game in the universe!”
Invincible VS introduces a range of dynamic game modes that heighten the stakes in every battle. Whether engaging in a compelling single-player story, competing in ranked or casual multiplayer Versus mode, unlocking character-driven stories in Arcade, or perfecting devastating combos in Training, players will revel in unparalleled superhero brutality where every bone-shattering strike makes them feel truly… Invincible.
“As huge fans of the franchise, we were honored to collaborate with Robert and the teams behind the comics and TV series to deliver an authentic Invincible experience,” noted Mike Willette, Executive Producer of Invincible VS. “In Invincible VS, every move, line of dialogue, broken bone, and bloodied mouth carries weight and consequence—culminating in the deep satisfaction of victory. No tag fighter has ever reached this level of intensity and violence. This game is a love letter to the fighting game community, crafted by a dedicated team of genre veterans and fans.”
We first learned about InvincibleVS last year, when Skybound Entertainment launched a crowdfunding campaign to support its development. At the time, we discovered the game was being developed by a 30-person internal studio composed of industry veterans from companies like Activision Blizzard, EA, and Epic Games. If the final game lives up to the quality of the TV show—now in its third season—fans have plenty to look forward to.
