Assassin’s Creed Shadows Expansion Details Leaked on Steam

Assassin's Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji DLC Details Leak on Steam

A Steam leak has revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion, set in feudal Japan, promises a significant amount of new content.

Assassin's Creed Shadows, the highly anticipated entry in the franchise, marks the series' debut in Japan. Players will control dual protagonists, Yasuke (a Samurai) and Naoe (a Shinobi), navigating 16th-century Japan. The game's development has been fraught with challenges, including negative feedback and multiple delays. The latest delay pushed the release date to March 20, 2025.

The leaked information, originating from a now-deleted Steam update according to Insider Gaming, details "Claws of Awaji." The DLC reportedly introduces a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities, adding over 10 hours of gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will grant access to this expansion and a bonus mission.

The Leak and Recent Delay:

The Steam leak emerged following Ubisoft's announcement of yet another delay for Assassin's Creed Shadows. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, the release was first postponed to February 14, 2025, and then again to March 20, 2025, for further polishing and refinement.

Ubisoft's Uncertain Future:

As Ubisoft Quebec prepares for the launch of Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft's parent company faces uncertainty amidst rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition. This speculation follows a period of mixed success for the company, with several major titles underperforming financially.
