Multiple sources suggest the critically acclaimed 2024 RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, may launch on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While Nintendo hasn't officially unveiled the Switch 2, numerous leaks point to a powerful upgrade with enhanced features, potentially launching in May or June.
According to prominent leaker PH Brazil, Metaphor: ReFantazio is likely to arrive within the Switch 2's launch window – generally considered the period from release through the year's end. This isn't a new rumor; previous leaks also hinted at its Switch 2 debut, alongside Persona 3 Reload. Given Sega's strong relationship with Nintendo, a Switch 2 port seems plausible.
Metaphor: ReFantazio's success, including nominations for Game of the Year and wins for Best Narrative and Art Direction at The Game Awards 2024, makes it a prime candidate for the new console.
The Switch 2's launch window is reportedly attracting significant third-party support. Ubisoft is said to be developing over half a dozen titles, with Konami and Microsoft also rumored to be preparing releases. Further speculation includes a new Mario Kart as a launch title and a 3D Super Mario game within the launch window. However, these remain unconfirmed.
