Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a unique turn-based RPG developed by the French studio Sandfall Interactive. Set in a dark fantasy world, the game features a narrative where a powerful entity known as the Paintress awakens annually to paint a number on her monolith, causing everyone of that age to disappear. As the game begins, the Paintress is set to paint the number 33. Players take control of Expedition 33, a group of 33-year-olds determined to stop the Paintress.
The combat system is a highlight, blending turn-based strategy with real-time actions such as dodging, parrying, and countering attacks. Players can also chain combos rhythmically and use a free-aim system to target enemy weak points. For a deeper dive into the game, check out our Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 preview.
