Sandfall Interactive has released the first update for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, detailed in a Steam blog post dated April 30. The update, labeled as Hotfix 1.2.2, primarily addresses several critical bugs and enhances localization.
Key bug fixes include resolving soft-lock issues when stunning the Grown Bourgeon and similar problems encountered on the world map. Additionally, the update improves the French, German, and Chinese language options to enhance the gaming experience for a broader audience.
The developers are committed to ongoing improvements and have promised more updates in the near future. While these fixes are crucial, the community is eagerly awaiting more substantial content, such as a potential DLC. Recently, Expedition 33’s lead writer engaged with fans on Instagram, hinting at the possibility of future expansions due to the game's success.
In a cross-promotional move, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche took to Expedition 33’s Twitter (X) account on April 30 to recommend another RPG, The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. Broche praised the game, saying, "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."
This recommendation was in response to a shout-out from The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka, who on April 28, tweeted, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" Kodaka continued to express his admiration for Expedition 33, encouraging fans to experience both RPGs.
Despite competing with other notable RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, The Hundred Line has garnered "Very Positive" reviews on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 has set a new benchmark, becoming the highest-rated game of 2025 and selling over 1 million copies within just three days of its release.
