Crunchyroll Expands Vault with Shogun Showdown, a Roguelike Combat Deckbuilder

Shogun Showdown, a captivating new roguelike combat deckbuilder, has now joined the Crunchyroll Game Vault. Originally launched in September 2024 for PC and consoles, this game quickly became a sensation, thanks to its innovative approach to turn-based combat. Developed by Roboatino and published by Goblinz Studio and Gamera Games for other platforms, Shogun Showdown offers players a thrilling experience.

What’s the Gameplay Like in Crunchyroll: Shogun Showdown?

In Shogun Showdown, strategic thinking is key. Set on a single-lane battlefield, your mission as a samurai is to defeat a corrupted shogun who has brought chaos and darkness to the world. The combat unfolds on a one-dimensional track ranging from 4 to 12 spaces, where you'll manage queued moves, plan attacks, shift positions, and avoid being trapped by ashigaru warriors.

Every move counts, as you can only queue up three actions or attacks at a time. Each run is procedurally generated, ensuring a unique mix of challenges, enemies, and layouts. The game's pixel art beautifully captures a feudal Japanese aesthetic, inviting players to dive into its world. Curious to see more? Check out the official mobile launch trailer below!
