Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting lineup of new content for Crusader Kings III in 2025, encapsulated in Chapter IV, which focuses on expanding the game's scope into Asia with new mechanics and regions to discover.
The year begins with the launch of the cosmetic DLC, Crowns of the World. This charming pack introduces six new crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, allowing players to further customize their rulers and enhance their regal appearance.
Come April 28, the first major expansion, Khans of the Steppe, will hit the scene, enabling players to take command of the formidable Mongols. As the Great Khan, you'll lead your nomadic horde to conquer lands and assert dominance over neighboring regions, immersing yourself in the thrilling life of a steppe warrior.
Mid-year, in Q3 (July–September), the Coronations DLC will roll out, introducing a new ceremonial mechanic that lets players legitimize their rule through grand coronation events. These ceremonies involve organizing lavish festivities, taking solemn vows, and choosing the future direction of your kingdom. Alongside, new advisor and vassal events will enrich political interactions, adding layers of depth to royal succession dynamics.
The year concludes with the release of All Under Heaven, a colossal expansion that unveils the entire East Asian map. Players will be able to explore detailed representations of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands, offering vast new territories ripe for conquest and exploration.
Throughout 2025, Paradox will continue to refine Crusader Kings III through regular patches that enhance game systems and AI behavior. The developers are keen on incorporating player feedback to shape these updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26.
