DOOM: The Dark Ages, launching May 15th, aims for maximum accessibility. Unlike previous id Software titles, it boasts extensive customization options, a key focus for executive producer Marty Stratton. This includes adjusting enemy difficulty, damage output, projectile speed, player damage, and even pacing elements like aggression and parry timing.

Stratton confirms the narrative stands alone, meaning players can enjoy DOOM: The Dark Ages without prior DOOM experience.

The game, revealed at Xbox Developer_Direct, utilizes the powerful idTech8 engine for enhanced visuals and performance. Ray tracing contributes to the visceral brutality, delivering realistic shadows and dynamic lighting. Minimum, recommended, and ultra settings have been pre-released to allow players optimal preparation.
