Genshin Impact's developers have once again set the community buzzing with excitement as they tease a new character for the upcoming update 5.5! Known for their meticulous approach, miHoYo (now HoYoverse) has been outpaced by leaks this time, but the official reveal is finally here. All eyes are on Varesa, the new 5-star Electro character who wields a Catalyst in battle.

Iansan, a familiar face in the game, describes Varesa with these words:

"Varesa, my most peculiar student… No one matches her easygoing, carefree nature. No matter where she travels, she’s like a child on an adventure—always searching for delicious treats or a cozy spot to rest... But beware! If you ever fight Abyss monsters with her, the moment she gets into the zone, she turns into an unstoppable force!"

Alongside Varesa, another character is stepping into the playable roster in update 5.5—Iansan! Previously an NPC, Iansan now emerges as a 4-star Electro user wielding a Polearm. Her transformation into a playable character has been eagerly anticipated by the Genshin Impact community.
