GTA 6: S-Tier Potential? Ranking All Rockstar Games

The new GTA 6 trailer has arrived, and if you missed it, we've broken down all the secrets and details for you. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until May 26, 2026, to dive into Lucia and Jason's story. While we count down the days, let's take a nostalgic trip through all the Rockstar games we've enjoyed over the years and rank them for fun!

Rockstar has been a powerhouse in gaming since 1998, releasing over 30 titles including iconic series like Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, and Manhunt. But which of these gems stands out as the best? Note that this list focuses solely on games developed by Rockstar, excluding titles they've published like LA Noire or Max Payne 2. I've ranked them using an IGN Tier List based on my personal enjoyment over the years. Check out my tier list below:

Red Dead Redemption 2 is hands down my favorite game ever, making it an easy S-tier pick. It's joined by its predecessor and GTA 5, both trailblazers in the cinematic open-world genre. I also have a special fondness for Max Payne 3 with its thrilling bullet-time action, and GTA San Andreas, which I played way too young. At the bottom of the list in the D-tier, you'll find games like Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! and Welcome to My Underground Lair!, which are generally not on anyone's must-play list.
