Throughout the Living Lands in Avowed, you'll discover various resources required for weapon and armor upgrades. Among these, none are as scarce or valuable as the four types of Adra. Here's everything you need to know about obtaining all Adra variants in Avowed.
Avowed features four distinct Adra types: base Adra, Awakened Adra, Corrupted Adra, and Adra Bán. Each variant differs in rarity and value, with higher-tier Adra required for upgrading unique equipment to superior qualities. For instance, only Adra Bán can upgrade a weapon to Legendary status.
More valuable Adra types appear in increasingly difficult game areas. As you progress through challenging zones, enemy strength escalates, necessitating better gear – which in turn demands rarer Adra typically exclusive to these regions. While you can craft lower-tier Adra into superior forms at Party Camps, direct discovery proves far more efficient. Here's where each Adra type initially appears:

Adra availability corresponds to your current region. Major story segments often grant Adra rewards – defeating Ygwulf in Dawnshore yields base Adra, while late-game mini-bosses drop Adra Bán. Beyond these milestones, multiple acquisition methods exist:
Merchants in major settlements like Dawnshore's Paradis or Shatterscarp's Thirdborn frequently stock limited Adra quantities alongside weapons and armor. Looting remains another viable option, with named enemies, locked containers, and hidden areas potentially containing Adra – always carry sufficient Lockpicks.
Crafting provides alternative avenues: dismantling Unique equipment yields Adra corresponding to its quality, and Party Camps facilitate Adra conversion between tiers. Most notably, Strangled Adra – scarce crystalline formations scattered across regions – offer substantial Adra rewards upon solving their attached puzzles.
Avowed is currently available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.
