The excitement around Pokemon Day 2025 may have subsided, but The Pokemon Company isn’t done surprising its fans just yet. A thrilling new event in *Pokemon GO* introduces the adorable yet formidable Kubfu to the mobile game. Here’s your guide on how to catch Kubfu in *Pokemon GO*.
The Might and Mastery event is now live in Pokemon GO, bringing a host of new features to the game. The star of the show, however, is the introduction of the Wushu Pokemon, Kubfu. Since its debut in the Pokemon Sword and Shield DLC, fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival in Pokemon GO. Now, the wait is over, and you can embark on a journey to capture this coveted Pokemon.
To catch Kubfu, navigate to your Special Research tab and locate the “Might and Mastery” section. Here, you'll find all the tasks necessary to encounter Kubfu. For those who want to plan ahead, here’s a rundown of the tasks and their rewards:
**Research Task** | **Reward** |
Explore 3 km | 15 Poke Balls |
Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket members | 5 Revives |
Use a supereffective Charged Attack | Use a super effective Charged Attack |
Upon completing these three tasks, Kubfu will appear, and you'll earn 891 XP for adding this powerful Pokemon to your collection. Remember, the Special Research is only available until Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 9:59 AM local time, so don't miss your chance to catch Kubfu.
For those who can't get enough of Kubfu, Pokemon GO offers the Paid Special Research – Fuzzy Fighter pass. For $8, you gain access to additional research tasks and the opportunity to catch a second Kubfu. The pass also includes the following rewards:
Keep in mind that the Fuzzy Fighter pass is only available for purchase until March 10, 2025, at 10 AM local time. Once purchased, the tasks remain in your game, giving you ample time to complete them.
Kubfu is undeniably charming, but competitive players are curious about evolving it into Urshifu. Currently, it seems that evolving Kubfu in Pokemon GO is not possible. However, given that Urshifu is featured in the loading screen for the Might and Mastery event, it’s likely that this feature will be added in the future.
