Hasbro Unveils G.I. Joe Cold Slither Heavy Metal Box Set

IGN has an exciting exclusive first look at Hasbro's latest addition to the G.I. Joe Classified line, and it's nothing short of spectacular. Introducing the G.I. Joe Classified: Dreadnoks Cold Slither - Band of Vipers action figure set, where the notorious Cobra villain Zartan and his Dreadnoks transform into the heavy metal band Cold Slither. This set draws inspiration from a memorable episode of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and will be an exclusive item at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. The Cold Slither set includes meticulously crafted 6-inch figures of Zartan, Ripper, Buzzer, and Torch, all styled for their Band of Vipers World Tour concert. Accompanying these figures are an impressive array of 29 accessories, including a guitar, bass, keytar, and drum set, ensuring fans can recreate iconic scenes. The packaging itself is a nod to nostalgia, designed to emulate the Springfield Theater from the classic series.

This exclusive box set will be available only at San Diego Comic-Con, running from July 24-27, 2025. After the event, limited quantities will also be offered on the Hasbro Pulse website.

For collectors who cherish the vintage charm of G.I. Joe, Hasbro is collaborating with Super7 to introduce the Cold Slither Zartan to the Super7's ReAction+ line. This 3.75-inch figure, reminiscent of the original A Real American Hero toys, features O-Ring construction and comes in nostalgic packaging. It glows in the dark under UV light and includes a microphone and guitar. Priced at $20, preorders for this figure will open on the Super7 website starting April 3 at 9:15am PT.

Hasbro is fully embracing the musical theme with the release of an actual Cold Slither album in collaboration with Reigning Phoenix Music. The album, slated for a 2025 release, features 10 electrifying tracks, including the self-titled anthem “Cold Slither,” blending heavy metal riffs, pounding rhythms, and catchy choruses to bring the fictional band to life.
