Marvel Rivals Unveils Season 1's Sanctum Sanctorum Map: A First Look

Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, "Eternal Night Falls," launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, introduces a thrilling new map: the Sanctum Sanctorum. This iconic location will serve as the backdrop for a new 8-12 player Doom Match mode, a free-for-all where the top 50% emerge victorious. The season also features Dracula as the primary antagonist, with the Fantastic Four leading the charge against him.

The Sanctum Sanctorum, alongside Midtown and Central Park maps, expands Marvel Rivals' gameplay options. Midtown will host a new convoy mission, while Central Park's features remain largely under wraps, slated for a mid-season update.

A recent video showcased the Sanctum Sanctorum's unique blend of opulent décor and bizarre elements. Expect floating cookware, a surprising refrigerator inhabitant (a squid-like creature!), winding staircases, levitating bookshelves, and powerful artifacts. Even a portrait of Doctor Strange himself adds a touch of whimsy to this otherwise mystical battleground. The trailer also features a first glimpse of Wong and Doctor Strange's ghostly canine companion, Bats.

The Fantastic Four will be key players in this season's storyline, stepping in to defend New York City in Doctor Strange's absence. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman debut with Season 1, while Human Torch and The Thing are set to join the fray in the mid-season update.
