In today's saturated gaming market, finding a truly unique game is a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating story and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian elements. This puzzle adventure game offers a narrative experience unlike any other.
The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, wasn't originally a game designer. In 2020, he was a writer and filmmaker. While a collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, the core narrative remained with him. He independently learned 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, ultimately realizing his vision. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
The game plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian mythology. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman haunted by a twenty-year-old question: what happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far more complex than she could have imagined.
My Father Lied masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian tales with modern storytelling. Gameplay features intuitive point-and-click mechanics, stunning 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree imagery.
