Celebrate 25 Years of The Sims with Legacy Collections!
EA and Maxis are commemorating The Sims' 25th anniversary with a fantastic surprise: The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are back on PC! Available now are The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, individually or bundled together for $40 in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
These releases offer nearly complete packages. The Sims: Legacy Collection includes all expansion packs and almost all stuff packs. Similarly, The Sims 2: Legacy Collection boasts all expansions and almost all stuff packs, with the notable exception of the 2008 IKEA Home Stuff pack. Both collections also include bonus content: The Sims 1 features a Throwback Fit Kit, while The Sims 2 gets a Grunge Revival Kit.
This marks a significant return for these classic titles. The Sims 1, originally only available on disc, has been unavailable for years except through difficult-to-acquire physical copies. While The Sims 2 had a brief resurgence in 2014 with an Ultimate Collection on Origin, that version was later removed. Now, all four main Sims games are readily accessible digitally.
Our original reviews praised both games highly (The Sims 1: 9.5/10; The Sims 2: 8.5/10). Despite the series' evolution, the originals retain their charm, offering a simpler, yet challenging gameplay experience with a unique nostalgic appeal.
The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the EA app.
