Next month, PlayStation Plus will see the removal of 22 games from its library, including notable titles like Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the last playable versions of first-party titles Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2. PlayStation Plus, a premier online gaming service for PlayStation platforms, offers its members free monthly games, limited-time trials, online multiplayer, member-exclusive discounts, and a vast catalog of current and classic games for Extra and Premium members.
As highlighted by Push Square, the removal of these 22 games on May 20 marks a significant change, especially with the exit of two high-profile first-party Sony PS3 games from the PS Plus Premium library.

Both Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 are no longer available for purchase on the PS Store, making the PS Plus Premium streaming service the final platform to experience these games—unless you own a functioning PS3 and the games themselves. These titles are being delisted less than a year after their addition to the library at the end of 2024.
The Resistance series, developed by Insomniac Games, offers alternate history first-person shooter experiences following their work on the Ratchet and Clank series. The trilogy, released for the PS3, marked Insomniac's venture into new genres before moving on to projects like Marvel’s Spider-Man and new Ratchet and Clank titles.
Although it's rare for Sony to remove first-party games from PS Plus, it's not unprecedented. This was evident with the surprising removal of both Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West in August 2024. However, those Horizon titles remained available for purchase, unlike Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, which will now vanish from modern consoles.
Interestingly, Resistance 3 and Resistance: Retribution will continue to be accessible on the service. Additionally, the PS4 first-party game InFamous: Second Son is also set to leave PS Plus.
Insomniac's Resistance series has been on hiatus for some time. In February, Insomniac founder and outgoing president Ted Price disclosed efforts to develop Resistance 4, which unfortunately did not proceed. Like Guerrilla's Killzone series, Resistance has been sidelined in Sony's portfolio.
