Publisher Dotemu, in collaboration with studios Guard Crush Games and Supamonks, has announced an exciting new title: Absolum — a dynamic fantasy beat 'em up infused with roguelite elements. Set in the enchanting yet devastated world of Talamh, which suffered a cataclysmic magical event, the game introduces a gripping narrative where magic is feared and exploited. The tyrannical King-Sun Azra uses his Crimson Order to enslave mages, capitalizing on the populace's dread of magic. However, a courageous band of heroes emerges to challenge his rule. This group includes the necromancer Galandra, the rebellious gnome Karl, the skilled mage Brom, and the enigmatic Sidr.
Players can immerse themselves in intense action, featuring upgradable abilities, powerful combos, and enchanting magical spells. Absolum offers both single-player and cooperative modes, allowing players to strategically combine attacks and synchronize their strikes to unleash devastating combinations on their foes.
The auditory experience of Absolum is set to be exceptional, with the game's soundtrack being composed by a trio of legendary musicians: Gareth Coker, renowned for his work on Ori and Halo Infinite; Yuka Kitamura, celebrated for her contributions to Dark Souls and Elden Ring; and Mick Gordon, the mastermind behind the soundtracks of DOOM Eternal and Atomic Heart.
Absolum is slated for release in 2025 and will be available on PS4/5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, promising a thrilling adventure for fans of beat 'em up and roguelite genres alike.
