If you're a fan of video games and enjoy collecting replicas or figurines inspired by your favorite titles, you might want to exercise caution when packing them for travel. A recent post from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) serves as a reminder about prohibited items, particularly after TSA officers at Boston Logan International Airport discovered a replica of the Monkey Bomb from Call of Duty's Zombies mode in a checked bag.

The Monkey Bomb, also known as the Cymbal Monkey, is a familiar item to Call of Duty enthusiasts, having appeared in numerous games from World at War to Black Ops 6. This particular figurine, designed to hold a game controller, is modeled after a weapon that features dynamite and cables. The TSA's message was clear: "This monkey may rack up points in a game, but in real life, leave the gear for your loadout screen, not your baggage. Replica weapons and explosives, no matter how cool or collectible, aren't allowed in either carry-on or checked baggage."

The TSA's website further elaborates on the prohibition of toy weapons, including items like squirt guns, Nerf guns, toy swords, or anything that resembles realistic firearms or weapons. This serves as a reminder of the high-quality detailing in replicas like the Monkey Bomb, which might inadvertently raise security concerns.

It's essential to be mindful of these regulations, especially if you're planning to attend conventions or events where such merchandise is commonly sold. Whether it's a Monkey Bomb figurine or Naruto-themed throwing knives, the TSA strictly prohibits any item in checked or carry-on baggage if it's deemed a potential security threat, even if it's just a replica.
