Following recent allegations surrounding his 2020 Twitch ban, Turtle Beach has severed its partnership with Dr Disrespect. The gaming accessory company had a long-standing relationship with the streamer, including a branded headset collaboration.
The allegations, stemming from claims by former Twitch employee Cody Conners, involve Dr Disrespect allegedly sexting a minor via Twitch's Whispers service and attempting an in-person meeting. These claims, while vehemently denied by Dr Disrespect, have prompted several partners to re-evaluate their relationships.
Turtle Beach confirmed to IGN the termination of its partnership, ending a multi-year deal signed in 2020 to sponsor its ROCCAT brand. The Dr Disrespect-themed headset is no longer available on the Turtle Beach website.
This isn't Dr Disrespect's only recent partnership casualty. Midnight Society, a game studio co-founded by Beahm (Dr Disrespect), Robert Bowling, and Quinn DelHoyo, also ended its association with him following the surfacing of these allegations. Midnight Society stated they had previously presumed Beahm's innocence but ultimately decided to part ways.
Dr Disrespect continues to deny any wrongdoing, asserting that the matter was resolved with Twitch in 2020 and that no illegal activity occurred. He has also announced a temporary break from streaming, citing the recent controversy and pre-planned vacation plans. The duration of his hiatus remains uncertain.
