Wuthering Waves' elemental system has evolved significantly in Version 2.0. Initially, elements provided character buffs and enemy resistances, but now, with the introduction of Elemental Effects and Echo sets, they offer more dynamic interactions. This guide details the changes.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs

While elements previously offered passive benefits, Version 2.0 introduces active Elemental Effects. These effects, applied via specific elemental attacks, impact characters in various ways. Dodging removes these stacks. Each element has a unique effect:

Elemental Effect	Effect Description
Havoc Bane	Stacks up to 2; at 2 stacks, deals Havoc DMG and reapplies to nearby characters.
Glacio Chafe	Reduces movement speed; at 10 stacks, freezes the resonator. Players can "Struggle" to shorten the freeze duration.
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks decrease over time, dealing Spectro DMG; more stacks = more DMG.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10; at 10 stacks, explodes, dealing significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically; more stacks = more DMG.
Electro Flare	Reduces ATK based on stacks: 1-4 stacks (-5%), 5-9 stacks (-7% + Magnetized effect), 10 stacks (-10%).

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets

Currently, the utilization of Elemental Effects is limited to a few Resonators, Echoes, and Echo sets.

Spectro Rover: Post-Version 2.0 rework, Spectro Rover uniquely applies Spectro Frazzle via its Resonance Skill (Resonating Spin variant), applying 2 stacks and a Shimmer effect preventing stack decay. This sustained application is crucial for maximizing the benefits of certain Echoes and Echo sets.

Echoes and Echo Sets Related to Elemental Effects:

Echo Set - Eternal Radiance: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Applying Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s; 10 stacks grant a 15% Spectro DMG bonus for 15s.
Echo - Nightmare: Increases Spectro DMG dealt to enemies affected by Spectro Frazzle by 100%. Provides a 12% Spectro DMG bonus to the equipped Resonator.

While currently niche, the integration of Elemental Effects suggests a potential future shift towards more complex elemental interactions within Wuthering Waves.
