World of Warcraft Getting More Expensive in One Region

World of Warcraft Price Hikes Hit Australia and New Zealand

Starting February 7th, World of Warcraft players in Australia and New Zealand will face increased prices on all in-game transactions. This includes monthly subscriptions, WoW Tokens, and other services. Blizzard cites global and regional market conditions as the reason for the price adjustments.

While this isn't the first price increase for WoW, the move has drawn criticism from some players. The current monthly subscription in Australia is AUD $19.95 and NZD $23.99. These will rise to AUD $23.95 and NZD $26.99 respectively, with annual subscriptions also seeing corresponding increases. The WoW Token will increase to AUD $32.00 and NZD $36.00. Blizzard assures players with recurring subscriptions as of February 6th will retain their current rates for up to six months.
