WHAT IS STENCILETTO?
Stenciletto is a series of progressive brain exercises using simple geometric shapes. It aims to develop and sharpen visual & spatial perception skills. Anyone can enjoy it—players just need to recognize basic shapes and understand what a stencil does.
Solving each puzzle calls on a wide range of critical thinking skills: visual & spatial perception, logical reasoning, planning, and problem-solving, all at once. It seems simple but offers a real cognitive challenge. Your task is to tap geometric stencils in the right order to recreate the pattern shown. It’s much trickier than it appears and will really make you think!
The game was developed over ten years by an experienced teacher, with input from children, teens, adults, and individuals with learning disabilities or brain injuries. Every group has found it engaging and motivating.
In this latest version, we've added an Education Mode, making the game classroom-friendly. All relevant content unlocks with a single purchase. It includes controls for content access, internet use, Game Center, and sharing. Education Mode supports Family Sharing, which also makes it perfect for home educators.
HISTORY OF THE GAME
Originally called the Stencil Design IQ Test, the game was created by early 20th‑century psychologist Grace Arthur Ph.D. She recognized that non‑verbal skills are a core part of intelligence. She found it suitable both for children as young as seven and for her fellow professors. Arthur used it to measure the IQ of Native American and deaf children who hadn't attended regular schools and struggled with verbal IQ tests. With this activity, she showed they had IQs equal to those of educated Americans.
WHAT'S IN THE GAME?
There are two game types. Classic Games use Grace Arthur’s original geometric stencils—squares, circles, triangles, crosses, etc.—that most people recognize. Our new World Games are extension exercises for those with strong perception and logic who want an extra challenge.
Stenciletto includes over 600 graded puzzles. Every level offers a free set to try (60 free puzzles in total).
Each paid game contains 15 puzzles. When you complete a Classic Game, you win an animated Smiley. These are based on well‑known figures from history and mythology, representing diverse cultures. They’re also a fun way to track your progress and achievements.
Different modes of play are available:-
• Mortal Mode is the default, where you either buy lives or wait for them to regenerate. It’s timed, scored, and has Mortal leaderboards.
• Immortal Mode gives you free lives forever—just top up your life bank when needed. It’s timed, scored, and has Immortal leaderboards.
• Mindful Mode has no timer or scoring, letting you relax and take all the time you need to solve puzzles.
• Education Mode unlocks both Immortal and Mindful Modes, so you can choose either (Mortal Mode can be disabled).
