Sueca is a trick-taking point game widely played in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Macau, Mozambique, Nagasaki, and Goa. It's a four-player game for two-player teams.
The goal of Sueca is to capture as many tricks as possible. Play uses a 40-card deck, which is a standard 52-card deck with the 8s, 9s, and 10s removed. Card ranks from highest to lowest are: Ace, 7, King (K), Jack (J), Queen (Q), 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Card point values are: Ace (11 points), 7 (10 points, called "manilha" in Portuguese), King (4 points), Jack (3 points), Queen (2 points). All other cards are worth zero points.
A player who wins a trick earns the total point value of the cards in that trick. The highest card of the trump suit always takes the trick!
The two-player version is known as Bisca, a game very similar to Sueca. Bisca is also available in this app.
