Schell Games and Innersloth, the developer and publisher behind Among Us 3D, have officially announced that the game will launch on May 6, 2025. This exciting news was shared via Among Us 3D's official Twitter (X) account on April 16. Originally named Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more expansive experience with cross-play multiplayer. The developers recently introduced a new currency called Stardust, which does not expire, giving players greater flexibility in their in-game purchases.

Among Us 3D promises an array of new features including a permanent Tag Mode with an Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and a variety of new cosmetics to customize your character.

It's important to note that Among Us 3D is distinct from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. The two games will not support cross-play. According to the FAQs on Schell Games' website, Among Us 3D is designed to be a completely different game. The developers stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
