Alicia Silverstone Returns for Clueless Sequel Series

Imagine stepping back into the world of Beverly Hills with none other than Alicia Silverstone reprising her iconic role as Cher Horowitz. According to Variety, the beloved actress is set to return in a highly anticipated sequel series for Peacock, marking a thrilling continuation of the story from the beloved 1995 film, "Clueless."

While plot details remain under wraps, what we do know is that this new series is distinct from the previously announced Clueless spin-off that Peacock had planned back in 2020. This fresh take on the classic tale will be penned by the dynamic duo of Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, renowned for their work on the original and rebooted "Gossip Girl" series. They'll be joined by Jordan Weiss in writing and executive producing the series, with Amy Heckerling, the original writer-director of "Clueless," and Robert Lawrence, the film's producer, also on board as executive producers. CBS Studios and Universal Television are set to bring this project to life.

This won't be the first time "Clueless" has made its way to the small screen. Following the film's success, a television adaptation aired on ABC and UPN from 1996 to 1999, with Rachel Blanchard stepping into the shoes of Cher Horowitz.
