Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025, featuring a chassis design similar to the 2024 R16 model but with aesthetic enhancements, improved cooling, and updated components. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window covers the entire side panel, eliminating side panel vents. Instead, air intakes are positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that results in a less dusty interior. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest generation of CPUs and GPUs.
The RTX 5080, the second most powerful Blackwell graphics card after the RTX 5090, is about 5%-10% faster than the discontinued RTX 4080 Super. With games supporting DLSS 4 and multi-frame generation, exclusive to Blackwell cards, the performance difference becomes even more pronounced.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE Review, by Jacqueline Thomas:
"If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 doesn’t offer a significant performance boost – it's just a slight improvement over the RTX 4080. However, the extra frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do enhance the gaming experience in supported titles. For gamers with older graphics cards looking for a substantial performance upgrade, the RTX 5080 is a fantastic choice, especially if you're keen on utilizing Nvidia’s AI enhancements."
