Though the post kept the details under wraps, the conspicuous "IV" centered in the teaser image, combined with a background that bears a striking resemblance to iconic Oblivion artwork, leaves little doubt about the subject of the announcement.

Rumors of an Oblivion remake have been circulating for what feels like an eternity, with whispers escalating into leaks in recent weeks. The initial hint of its development surfaced from a leaked 2020 Bethesda release schedule during the FTC vs. Microsoft trial in 2023, which hinted at an Oblivion remaster targeted for fiscal year 2022.
