The resounding success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has opened up exciting new possibilities for developer Sandfall Interactive, including the potential for a release on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with French YouTuber mistermv on May 2, Expedition 33 Director Guillaume Broche shared insights into the studio's future plans following their impressive launch.

Broche remarked on the game's achievements, stating, "Well, at this point, considering the success of the game, it kind of changes everything." This success has put the team in a position where they are discussing their next steps and considering various opportunities.

When pressed about the possibility of bringing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 to the Switch 2, Broche responded thoughtfully, "So clearly, it's too early to say, but we're kind of in a situation where... let's say there are a lot of opportunities showing up - way too many at once - and we're figuring out what we'll go for and what we won't. But yeah, it's definitely something that could be interesting."

As the launch of the Switch 2 looms on the horizon, it seems fitting that a top-rated game like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 might find its way onto Nintendo's latest handheld console. Fans eagerly await confirmation on whether they will be able to experience the Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG on this new platform.

No Official Merchandise…Yet!

Amid the game's success, Sandfall Interactive is also dealing with a surge of requests and opportunities, including calls for official merchandise. One popular request is for a plush of the beloved character Esquie. However, the studio has yet to produce any official merchandise and has issued warnings about fake products circulating online.

In a Twitter (X) post dated May 14, Sandfall Interactive clarified, "To be clear: any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed." They highlighted the use of AI-generated artwork in these unauthorized items and cautioned fans against purchasing them, as they could be scams.

Despite this, the studio is actively looking into creating official Esquie plushies. Their tweet continued, "But here’s the wheee to balance out the whooo: we are looking into making official Esquie plushies, and we want to bring them to you as soon as we can. In the meantime, please be patient — and don’t get scammed!"

The enthusiasm for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to grow, and with Sandfall Interactive's recent announcements, fans can look forward to official merchandise in the near future.
