Code Geass: Lost Stories to End Mobile Run Globally Soon

Fans of the strategic tower defense game Code Geass: Lost Stories, inspired by the renowned anime and manga series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, will be saddened to learn that the global mobile version is set to shut down. While the Japanese version will continue to thrive, the global community will have to bid farewell to this engaging game. Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, Code Geass: Lost Stories was launched worldwide in September 2023 but won't reach its first anniversary.

When Is It Shutting Down?

Code Geass: Lost Stories will cease operations on August 29th, 2024. Players have until this date to enjoy the game, as access to accounts will be terminated afterward. The game's official global social media accounts will also shut down on the same day. As of now, new downloads and in-game purchases are no longer available. Despite its global closure, the game continues to be popular among Japanese players.

Why Is Code Geass: Lost Stories Shutting Down?

Despite blending RPG, action, and tower defense elements with a beloved anime franchise, Code Geass: Lost Stories is facing closure. Although the developers haven't disclosed specific reasons, the game's low download numbers and less favorable global reviews likely contributed to this decision. Licensed anime gacha games often struggle to retain a robust player base outside Japan, where spending tends to be higher. Thus, the early shutdown of Code Geass: Lost Stories may not come as a shock to many.

For those in Japan interested in experiencing the game, it remains available on the Google Play Store.
