Kabam is rolling out significant updates for Marvel Contest of Champions, launching the Dark Phoenix Saga, introducing new Champions, and unveiling a new character type called Eidols. This month, the game also celebrates its powerful female characters, giving players a chance to influence an upcoming Champion rework.
Jean Grey and Bastion are the latest additions to The Contest, each bringing their unique abilities and contributing to a new storyline. You can recruit Jean Grey starting March 13th, with Bastion following on March 27th. Before their arrival, the Dark Phoenix Saga begins on March 3rd, featuring Jean Grey and the X-Men battling dangerous variants in a thrilling new quest.
The lore of Marvel Contest of Champions expands with the introduction of more Eidols, continuing the Founders storyline. The first Eidol, Isophyne, was introduced in December 2024, and three more will be unveiled throughout 2025, each with unique sourcing systems. The next Eidol, Lumatrix, debuts on March 5th and will be available until June 4th.
Lumatrix, designed by The Founders, is a master infiltrator adept at spying, sabotaging, and assassinating with unmatched precision. Made of ISO-8 crystals, Lumatrix possesses remarkable light manipulation abilities. While it may dazzle with its performance, it is fundamentally a ruthless weapon designed to eliminate threats while remaining undetected.
To celebrate the powerful women of The Contest, Kabam has collaborated with seven female developers and content creators, each representing a different Champion. Players can influence which Champion receives a rework in 2025 by completing Solo Objectives and participating in Realm Events.
