Dragon Ball Squadra Details Future Plans in Developer Letter

  • Developers release new letter addressing player feedback
  • Hero balance updates to occur more frequently
  • Six trial hero slots will be introduced shortly

Fresh start emotes for Super Saiyan 3 Son Goku, Majin Buu (Good), and Zamasu were recently released. Bandai Namco has now provided a clearer look at the upcoming roadmap for Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra.

The second Developer Letter details the team’s refined approach to balancing and expanding player choice. These are modest but significant adjustments that demonstrate a close ear to community input.

A key takeaway is that hero tuning will now happen more often. Initially, balance changes were scheduled for the start of each season. However, after monitoring the early meta and player discussions, the team will now implement mid-season adjustments. This responsive approach is wise for a MOBA still establishing its footing, especially during a debut season where hero power can vary widely.

Delving into specifics, Super Saiyan Son Goku will see an increased cooldown for Meteor Hammer and a longer Kaioken duration, though its buffs have been scaled back for fairness. Meanwhile, Majin Buu (Good) receives welcome enhancements, including a health increase and stronger attacks.

The Trial Hero system is also being expanded. Players will soon have access to six trial slots simultaneously, including Tier 1 characters. This offers a better opportunity to test heroes before making a commitment—a great incentive for newcomers and casual players. Our Dragon Ball: Gekishin Squadra tips can further assist with that process.

Additionally, reflecting a focus on presentation, each new hero will now launch with matching emotes available from day one. This is part of a broader shift in how shop and Capsule updates are handled. While not major content, it helps the game feel more dynamic between larger patches.

Overall, Gekishin Squadra is still early in its first season, and these changes signal the developers finding a sustainable update cadence. They aren't reinventing the core experience yet, but actively listening to feedback is often the foundation of a successful live-service game.
