Fortnite's Chapter 6 Season 1 update introduces a highly anticipated feature: using Fortnite Festival instruments as pickaxes and back blings. December 2024 saw the launch of new game modes, including Ballistic, LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life, and Fortnite OG.

Fortnite Festival itself is a major game mode, offering a unique experience often compared to Guitar Hero. Players use various instruments to play songs, purchasing licensed music and instrument cosmetics from the Item Shop. Recently, Epic Games added local co-op to Fortnite Festival, enhancing the social aspect of the mode. Epic Games surprised players by allowing these previously Festival-exclusive instruments into the battle royale mode.
