Fortnite enthusiasts in the U.S. can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the iconic battle royale game has triumphantly returned to the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad users. Epic Games announced this exciting news via a post on X/Twitter, signaling the end of a five-year hiatus for mobile gamers. The Fortnite iOS store page has been reinstated, retaining its original appearance from 2020, but now proudly declares, "Fortnite is back!"
Fortnite is BACK on the App Store in the U.S. on iPhones and iPads... and on the Epic Games Store and AltStore in the E.U! It’ll show up in Search soon!

While some U.S. Apple users might initially struggle to find Fortnite through the App Store's search function, Epic assures that this will be resolved "soon." In the meantime, players can directly access its revived store page. For those in the E.U., Fortnite is also available for download via the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
This reappearance marks the conclusion of a tumultuous chapter between Epic Games and Apple, which began in August 2020. At that time, both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their respective digital stores following Epic's introduction of an update that lowered the price of V-Bucks and implemented a direct payment system. Epic attributed this move to their stance against what they deemed "exorbitant" store fees charged by Apple and Google.
The ensuing legal battle kept Fortnite off official storefronts for millions of players. However, the situation changed in April when Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced Fortnite's return to the iOS App Store in early May, following a ruling by a U.S. Federal District Court in California. Despite a brief delay due to further complications with Apple, Fortnite has now made its much-anticipated comeback on iOS devices after five long years.
Players downloading Fortnite on their Apple devices can now purchase V-Bucks either through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For instance, opting for the 2,800 V-Bucks pack priced at $22.99 allows users to pay Epic directly, receiving a 20% rebate ($4.60) to use on other Epic offerings.

However, this integration has not been without controversy, as players discovered ways to make the bot use profanity. Consequently, the Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) filed an unfair labor practice charge against Epic just yesterday.
