Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered enhances the thrill of its action-packed gameplay with extensive customization options for weapons and outfits. You can tailor one outfit for stealth missions against machines, while another might be optimized for melee or ranged combat. However, there are moments when you might wish to harness the benefits of multiple outfits simultaneously. Fortunately, this is possible, albeit with certain limitations. Let's dive into how you can achieve this.
To leverage the dual outfit effects in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, you need the remastered version. A recent update introduced the transmog feature, allowing you to maintain the stats and effects of one outfit while adopting the appearance of another. This means you no longer have to compromise on style for the sake of stats.
To use the effects of two outfits, there are specific conditions to meet. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can choose any outfit for one slot, the second must be one of these three:
These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area and cannot be accessed at the game's start. Fortunately, you don't need to finish the base game to explore this DLC.
Begin by accessing the expansion area after defeating the new machine. If this proves challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main mission in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this quest can be demanding. Alternatively, reduce the difficulty to Story mode for a quicker completion and outfit unlock.
To get the Adept version, follow the same process but in New Game Plus.
Once you have the second outfit, you can stop exploring the Frozen Wilds if you wish.
Start by equipping your preferred outfit with the desired stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. Then, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits. These outfits offer an auto-healing perk after taking damage, which you can combine with your chosen outfit's stats.
This method lets you enjoy your selected outfit's stats while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If you pair this with the Shield Weaver outfit, you become nearly invincible, taking minimal damage and healing automatically when needed.
The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits' healing activates faster than the Banuk Werak Runner's, making them preferable choices if available.
