Way of the Hunter: Wild America is coming to mobile devices, bringing its expansive open-world hunting experience to a new platform. PC players will recognize the acclaimed gameplay developed by Nine Rocks Games, originally released in August 2022.
While some graphical adjustments are expected given the limitations of mobile hardware compared to PCs, the core gameplay experience, including all DLC, is planned for release post-launch. Currently in beta testing, THQ Nordic and HandyGames are preparing for an imminent mobile launch. A closed beta test signup is available via a form on HandyGames' official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Way of the Hunter challenges players with realistic hunting simulations, requiring patience and strategic thinking. Animals behave naturally within vast open-world environments inspired by the USA and Europe, providing a 55-square-mile hunting ground.
The game features authentic hunting weaponry, from rifles to bows, and incorporates elements of tracking, including blood splatter analysis and animal sign interpretation to ensure successful hunts.
The game's ecosystem dynamically responds to player actions, introducing consequences for reckless hunting. Overhunting in a specific area will cause animals to relocate. An in-game economy allows players to sell harvested meat to purchase superior equipment, hunting licenses, and taxidermy trophies for their lodge. Both campaign and co-op modes are included, with full controller support planned for the mobile version.
