How To Play Hyper Light Breaker With Friends

To enjoy Hyper Light Breaker's co-op multiplayer with your friends, you'll need to create a Private multiplayer room. Once you spawn into the Cursed Outpost, the game's hub zone, head to the counter to the left of your commander, Pherus Bit, who is located just opposite the doorway into the Outpost.

To initiate multiplayer, press the Interact button (usually R1 or RB) while at the counter to access the Multiplayer menu. Here, you can create, join a Breaker Team, or view your Invitations. To play with friends, select "Create Breaker Team".

In the subsequent menu, toggle "Password Required" to "On" and enter a password. After setting up your private Breaker Team, invite up to two friends using your platform's social service, whether it's PSN, Xbox, or Steam. The game supports groups of up to three players.

If your friends are already in-game, they'll see the invitation in the "Invitations" tab of the Multiplayer menu. Otherwise, they can join your session through the invitation link you've sent them.

Your team might also appear in the general listing of Breaker Teams, allowing your friends to join directly from the "Join Breaker Team" menu if other methods fail.

Random Online Matchmaking In Hyper Light Breaker

If you're eager to play multiplayer but don't have friends with the game, Hyper Light Breaker's system supports public groups. You can either create a public group by following the same steps as above but omitting the password, or join one randomly through the game's matchmaking system.

In the Cursed Outpost's multiplayer menu, select "Join Breaker Team", then scroll to the bottom and choose "Join Random Public Breaker Team".

The game will search for available public, non-password-protected Breaker Teams and assign you to one if available. After a brief loading screen, you'll join the world of the team's creator.

To leave a multiplayer session, return to the counter in the Cursed Outpost and access the multiplayer menu. If you're in a session, a "Disconnect" option will appear at the bottom of the list. Selecting this will return you to your own world. Alternatively, you can simply quit the game to end the session.
