Iansan: The New Bennett Replacement in Genshin Impact?

In the ever-evolving world of *Genshin Impact*, Bennett has long been heralded as one of the game's most valuable characters, a staple in countless team compositions since the game's inception. However, with the introduction of Iansan in Version 5.5, set to launch on March 26, many are wondering if she could be the new Bennett replacement. HoYoverse's approach to character design has often been scrutinized, especially with support characters like Bennett, Xingqiu, and Xiangling being perceived as overly powerful. This has led to the creation of new characters with more specialized roles, like Iansan, to diversify player options.

How Does Iansan’s Kit Compare to Bennett’s in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, a 4-Star Electro Polearm wielder from Natlan, steps into the support role with a kit focused on DMG buffs and healing, much like Bennett. Her Elemental Burst, The Three Principles of Power, is pivotal in enhancing other characters' performance. Unlike Bennett's stationary field, Iansan's Kinetic Energy Scale follows the active character, offering ATK boosts based on her Nightsoul Points. This dynamic system requires the active character to move, with the scale tracking distance traveled and replenishing Iansan's Nightsoul Points accordingly.

The ATK bonus from Iansan's scale scales differently depending on her Nightsoul Points. Below 42 out of 54 maximum points, it combines both Nightsoul Points and ATK, but above 42 points, it scales solely off her ATK. This necessitates an ATK-focused build for Iansan. While both characters offer healing, Bennett's ability to restore up to 70% HP significantly outshines Iansan's, who cannot heal herself. Additionally, Bennett's C6 constellation allows for Pyro infusion into the active character's Normal Attacks, a feature Iansan lacks.

Bennett raises his fist triumphantly.

For exploration, Iansan's unique ability to use Nightsoul Points for stamina-free sprinting and extended jumping gives her an edge. Yet, for Pyro-based teams, Bennett's Elemental Resonance, providing a +25% ATK buff and Pyro infusion, makes him the superior choice.

Should You Choose Iansan or Bennett in Genshin Impact?

Iansan, often dubbed Bennett's "long-lost sister" due to their similar appearances and roles, does not replace him but offers a compelling alternative. She's particularly useful for secondary teams in the Spiral Abyss, providing a different gameplay experience by encouraging movement rather than staying within a static field like Bennett's Burst.

Players eager to try Iansan can do so in Phase I of *Genshin Impact* Version 5.5, available from March 26. With her unique mechanics and support capabilities, Iansan adds a fresh dynamic to team compositions, complementing rather than replacing the ever-reliable Bennett.
