Star Wars Celebration has brought thrilling updates for fans of The Mandalorian and Grogu, especially with the upcoming expansion to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. This new update, set to launch on May 22, 2026, will intertwine with the new movie but follow a unique storyline. Players will have the chance to care for Grogu as Engineers, adding a fresh layer of interaction to the game. This expansion will also introduce new planets like Coruscant, alongside familiar ones such as Tatooine, Bespin, and Endor, enriching the choose-your-own-adventure experience.
In this exciting new narrative, the notorious Hondo Ohnaka uncovers a secretive deal on Tatooine involving ex-Imperial officers and pirates. This sets off a thrilling chase across the galaxy, where guests will join forces with Din Djarin and Grogu to pursue the bounty in a dynamic adventure that spans the stars.

While full details are yet to be revealed, we know that Engineers will play a pivotal role by taking care of Grogu, promising a deeply engaging experience. Imagineering's Asa Kalama provided insights into what players can expect, highlighting the unique interactions between Engineers and Grogu.
"Throughout the mission, we're going to give the engineers the chance to communicate directly with Grogu," Kalama explained. "It's going to be a lot of fun. There will be moments when Mando has to leave the Razor Crest, and Grogu, left to his own devices, might get a bit playful with the control panel. These fun little moments will create unique vignettes where you're essentially on the comm with Grogu."
Adding to the excitement, Kalama revealed the choose-your-own-adventure aspect: "There will be a critical moment in your adventure where you must make a quick decision about which bounty to pursue. This choice will determine the different destinations you visit, adding a dynamic element to the storyline."
