Lego Unveils New Minecraft Movie Sets Featuring Jack Black and Jason Momoa
Ahead of the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa, Lego has announced two new sets offering a glimpse into the film's action-packed scenes. As reported by GamesRadar, these sets – the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring and the Ghast Balloon Village Attack – expand the existing Minecraft Lego line, incorporating minifigures of Black's Steve and Momoa's Garbage Man.
The $49.99 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring (491 pieces) depicts a gladiator-style battle featuring Momoa's character facing off against a zombie riding a giant chicken. The scale of this unusual pairing remains unclear, but the chicken-zombie combo is notably taller than the Garbage Man minifigure. The set also includes Steve, his companion Henry, a giant zombie pigman, a treasure chest, and a small viewing stand with weapons.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack set ($69.99, 555 pieces) showcases the Nether's Ghast in a large-scale battle within a typical overworld village. This set includes one villager, two piglins, Steve, Natalie, Dawn, and an iron golem.
Both sets launch on March 1st, a month before the Minecraft movie's theatrical release on April 4th. The film's September reveal sparked considerable fan debate regarding the contrast between the live-action characters and the animated world. However, the director and producer, in a November interview with IGN, expressed confidence in their approach, stating they were prepared for any reaction.
