Players of GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE on the global server are voicing their frustration over the disparities they see between their version and the Chinese (CN) server. Since the CN server launched on May 22, it has introduced substantial updates that global players feel should have been implemented in their version as well.
In a Reddit post by user Glittering_Novel_783, it was highlighted that the CN server boasts all the quality-of-life improvements that global players have been requesting for the past two years. These include faster loading times, auto-progress in Tribe Towers, enhanced characters, improved shops, and more.
A key point of contention is the difference in Molds, which are crucial for obtaining new characters. On the global server, high-quality Regular Molds offer a 60% chance of securing an SSR (Super Super Rare) character and a 40% chance for an SR (Super Rare), while Manufacturer Molds provide a 50% chance for an SSR, 30% for an SR, and 20% for an R (Rare). In contrast, the CN server's Molds system includes a pity system, guaranteeing an SSR after accumulating 50 pity shards. Furthermore, there are reports that Manufacturer Molds in CN do not include Rs, thereby increasing the chances of obtaining SSRs or SRs.
The community's disappointment is palpable across various platforms. On Reddit, fans have expressed their frustration, questioning why SHIFT UP hasn't rolled out the same improvements to the global server. Many point out that other games often prioritize their CN servers due to the large market, leaving global versions behind.
On NIKKE's official Discord, the feedback channel is overflowing with complaints. Threads expressing anger and dissatisfaction have garnered hundreds to thousands of upvotes and comments. A particularly popular thread demands the same benefits as the CN server, with one user sharing screenshots of a new Private skin exclusive to CN, which many global players wish to have. The discontent continues to grow, with fans demanding action.
In their May 2025 Developer’s Note, SHIFT UP addressed the significant differences between the global and CN versions, explaining that the CN server will operate on its own separate build. They stated, "The 2.5 years of gaps and separate builds meant that on the one hand, there might possibly be story spoilers, but on the other hand, it also allows us to incorporate some unique and complementary elements."
SHIFT UP acknowledged the fans' frustration and assured that both versions would develop in their unique ways under different conditions, with the differences enriching one another. They committed to supporting the global version fully and promised to continue working on enhancing both versions simultaneously.
Despite SHIFT UP's efforts to explain their stance, the global player base remains unsatisfied. Subreddits like r/NikkeMobile and r/gachagaming have mocked SHIFT UP's response, suggesting it's merely a tactic to pacify players. Memes and satirical posts, such as user satufa2's clown-themed meme mocking the idea of differences enriching each other, have proliferated.
Players are taking more direct action by calling for a review bombing campaign to draw attention to their concerns. Additionally, a "spending freeze" has been proposed, a common strategy among gacha game players to hit the company's revenue and force changes. As the situation evolves, fans continue to voice their dissatisfaction across Subreddits and Discord, awaiting further action from SHIFT UP.
