Nintendo Franchise Poised for LEGO Collaboration in 2025?

Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up to produce some fantastic LEGO Nintendo sets. Last year alone saw the release of the interactive Mario and Yoshi set and the first-ever LEGO Legend of Zelda set. While these are excellent, the potential for LEGO sets based on other iconic Nintendo franchises remains largely untapped.

Currently, the market is dominated by a wide range of Mario sets (including Donkey Kong) and a selection of Animal Crossing sets. However, many other beloved franchises are absent. As a dual fan of LEGO and Nintendo, I long for more options. To fellow enthusiasts, I ask: Which Nintendo franchise deserves the LEGO treatment next?

The upcoming Switch 2 launch fuels anticipation for the next generation of Nintendo games and, consequently, potential LEGO collaborations. Given Nintendo's investment in film (the new Mario movie and the eventual live-action Zelda adaptation), more LEGO Nintendo sets are highly probable. What franchises might we see realized in LEGO form in 2025 and beyond? Share your predictions in the comments!

Personally, I believe a Metroid line would be incredibly successful. With Metroid Prime 4 on the horizon, the timing seems ideal for compelling LEGO builds. Additionally, I'd love to see genuine LEGO Pokémon sets, rather than the existing MEGA sets, though licensing agreements might present a challenge.
