A The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild speedrunner stunned attendees at the Nintendo Switch 2 Experience in Japan by completing the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game within a strict 10-minute time limit. As noted by VGC, Japanese content creator Ikaboze unknowingly loaded an existing save file that placed him directly into the final boss battle against Ganon. Despite using an unfamiliar controller and being unable to hear the game over the convention hall noise, Ikaboze triumphed in just seven minutes, earning spontaneous applause from the audience.

Ikaboze’s achievement was particularly remarkable given the unusual circumstances. “I was surprised by how many people had gathered,” he remarked. “Staff were even filming on their smartphones. This was the first time anyone had completed the Breath of the Wild demo, and staff congratulated me.”
The Nintendo Switch 2 Enhanced Edition of Breath of the Wild offers improved visuals and performance, along with achievements and support for the new "Zelda Notes" service in the Nintendo Switch Online app. While existing owners of the original game won't receive these upgrades automatically, they can purchase an "upgrade pack" for $10 to access them. Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom upgrade packs are also included at no additional cost for Nintendo Switch Online and Expansion Pack subscribers.
