Pokémon TCG to Release Trainer

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is bringing back beloved features from its early days! Pokémon has announced the return of "Trainer's Pokémon" cards in 2025, as revealed during the 2024 Pokémon World Championships. A teaser trailer showcased trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside their Pokémon, hinting at a nostalgic comeback.

This revival includes cards featuring Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram. These cards, a staple of the original TCG, offered unique abilities and artwork. The trailer also teased a potential return of Team Rocket-themed cards and possibly Dark Pokémon, further fueling fan excitement. Rumors of a Japanese retailer listing and a trademark filing ("The Glory of Team Rocket") add weight to this speculation.

Beyond Trainer's Pokémon, the Paradise Dragona set was partially unveiled at the World Championships. Featuring Latias, Latios, Exeggcute, and Alolan Exeggutor ex, this Japanese subset will be incorporated into the English Surging Sparks set launching in November 2024. This follows the upcoming release of the Shrouded Fable expansion, concluding the Kitikami chapter with 99 cards (64 main and 35 secret rare). While official release dates remain unconfirmed, Pokémon TCG players have much to anticipate in the coming months.
