Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's Global Server to Shut Down
Sad news for global players of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games have announced the End of Service (EOS) for the game's global version, effective March 28th, 2025. This comes just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, however, remains operational and is even preparing for its 1.5th anniversary in March 2025 – a stark contrast to the global server's closure.
March 28th, 2025: The Final Curtain
The global server's shutdown coincides ironically with the Japanese server's anniversary celebrations. In-game purchases are already disabled, but players can still utilize any remaining Lodestar Gems. Koei Tecmo promises continued events and content updates until the final day. This announcement follows closely after the game's first anniversary on January 25th.
Reasons for Closure:
The developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the primary reason for the shutdown. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing regarding the gacha system, gameplay mechanics, and aggressive monetization strategies shortly after launch. These factors, coupled with perceived power creep, ultimately led to the decision to cease global operations.
Players wishing to experience the game before its closure can still find it on the Google Play Store. Alternatively, you might consider exploring other mobile gaming options, such as the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year event.
