Rivals Update 9 Introduces the Gunblade and Bridge Map as Nosniy Prepares to Add Ranked Mode

Roblox's Rivals Update 9: New Gunblade Weapon and Bridge Map Arrive

The popular first-person shooter PvP Roblox experience, Rivals, has just dropped Update 9, introducing the exciting Gunblade weapon and a brand-new Bridge map.

Developer Nosniy Games highlighted these additions in the patch notes, along with a few minor tweaks. While a smaller update than some recent releases, it still packs a punch.

The Gunblade, a versatile combination rifle and blade, is sure to be a fan favorite. Its dual functionality – ranged attacks and close-quarters melee combat – offers strategic advantages, particularly on the new Bridge map. This intense, close-quarters combat arena, set in Seoul and created by @GreatGuyBoom, features limited space, concrete walls, and a single bus, maximizing the action.

This update focuses primarily on the new content, with bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements postponed until the next major update. Minor skin modifications for the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi, along with renaming the Hexxed Flare Gun, Hexxed Candle, and Hexxed wrap to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, and Vexed respectively, are included. The developers emphasized that these omissions are intentional, prioritizing the upcoming Ranked mode.

The team stated, "We hear all of your feedback and want to reassure you all that every necessary & additional changes/improvements will be made in time for Ranked."

Since its launch last May, Rivals has consistently received updates. Update 7, for example, added the Energy Rifle, Energy Pistols, Crossbow, and more. For a complete list of active Rivals codes, click here.

NEW SPECIAL CHALLENGES:

• A new set of challenges replaces the Winter Spotlight, offering keys and the limited-time Bungeoppang charm upon completion on the Bridge map.

OTHER:

• Minor modifications to Demon Shorty & Demon Uzi skins.
• Name changes for several weapon skins: Hexxed Flare Gun, Hexxed Candle, and Hexxed wrap are now Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, and Vexed.
