SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered Enhances Android with New Visuals and Content

Square Enix has recently released the highly anticipated SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered on mobile and other platforms. Originally launched on the PlayStation in 1999 in Japan and in 2000 in North America and Europe, this remastered version revives the classic with enhanced visuals and additional content.

SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered Is Now Available on Android

Set in the enchanting world of Sandail, where magic is powered by a mysterious force known as Anima, SaGa Frontier 2 lets you dive into the lives of two compelling protagonists. Gustave, a royal with an unfortunate lack of magical talent, and William Knights, a youthful adventurer from a lineage of diggers who seek ancient relics called Quells.

Gustave's narrative begins with his banishment from the Kingdom of Finney due to his inability to harness Anima, a pivotal element in their society. On the other hand, William, or Wil, embarks on a quest to uncover the secrets behind his parents' demise and the enigmatic relic known as the Egg, which has the power to manipulate minds.

SaGa Frontier 2: Remastered elevates the original game's graphics to a higher resolution, bringing the watercolor backgrounds to life with stunning clarity. The user interface has been revamped for easier navigation while retaining the game's classic aesthetic.

What Else Is New?

In addition to the visual upgrades, the remastered version includes new stories that seamlessly blend with the original narrative. The combat system has been refined, offering three distinct battle types: Party Battles, Duels, and Warfare. Party Battles follow the traditional RPG format, whereas Duels focus on strategic one-on-one encounters where every move is crucial.

Warfare introduces a broader, more strategic approach to combat, ensuring that each battle type demands a unique strategy. This keeps the gameplay engaging and prevents it from becoming repetitive.

The remaster also reintroduces the glimmer system from the original game, allowing players to learn new techniques during combat. Additionally, the combo mechanic encourages players to chain attacks with their team, adding depth to the battle system.
