Sony Bravia X93L Review by Jaron Schneider

"The Sony X93L isn’t cheap, but largely earns its price through very good image quality powered by top-tier processing that results in a fantastic gaming experience."

The Sony Bravia XR X93L, released in March 2023, stood as the second highest-end non-OLED TV in Sony's lineup, just below the X95L, which was only available in an 85" size in the United States. The X93L utilizes Mini LED technology, which significantly enhances HDR content. Mini LED backlighting consists of an array of smaller, more numerous LEDs that can independently turn on and off, improving black levels and contrast ratios for a superior viewing experience.

For gamers, the X93L is a standout choice. It features four HDMI ports, two of which support HDMI 2.1 specifications. This enables 4K output at up to a 120Hz refresh rate, making it perfect for current-generation consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although the upcoming Switch 2 will be limited to 60fps in 4K when docked, it does not require HDMI 2.1.

Android smartphone users will appreciate Sony's use of the Google TV smart interface, which is user-friendly and allows you to use your Android device as a remote.
