The Last of Us' critically acclaimed TV adaptation secured a Season 3 renewal before Season 2 even premiered. But what about Season 4? Showrunner Craig Mazin suggests a fourth season might be necessary to properly conclude the series.
In an interview with Collider, Mazin acknowledged that wrapping up The Last of Us' storyline—based on Naughty Dog's two video games—in Season 3 alone would require an unrealistically long runtime. While Season 3 could potentially be extended compared to Season 2, he emphasized that "there's no way to complete this narrative in a third season."
Mazin elaborated: "Hopefully, we'll prove ourselves worthy enough to continue and finish the story properly with a fourth season. That seems like the most logical outcome."
